Salesforceは、患者管理ソフトウェア「Health Cloud」を強化しており、一連の機能を順次展開している。EHR（電子健康記録）システムに関わる戦略や、どこからでもケアできるようにするという取り組みを推進するものだ。
順次提供される機能には、「Salesforce Maps」「B2C Commerce」「Salesforce Order Management」のHIPAA（医療保険の相互運用性と説明責任に関する法律）準拠、服薬管理、インテリジェントな予約管理、遠隔患者の例外監視などがある。これらのアップデートは少しずつ進んでいるように見受けられるかもしれないが、Health Cloudのほか、金融サービスやメディアを含む、業界別のサービスに向けたSalesforceの戦略を示すものだ。
Salesforceは、病院向けの記録システムやヘルスケアシステムではないかもしれないが、Epicのような企業が提供する電子カルテへの入り口のようになっている。同社のワクチン接種管理ソフトウェア「Vaccine Cloud」は、Health Cloudの導入を促進した。Health Cloudは、同社の2つ目の業界別クラウドで、2016年に一般提供が開始されている。
Salesforceのシニアバイスプレジデントで、ヘルスケア・ライフサイエンス部門担当ゼネラルマネジャーを務めるKevin Riley氏によると、コロナ禍で遠隔医療や在宅でのオンライン診療が加速した。医療従事者は患者との関わりをより密接に管理する必要があり、患者の遠隔監視はSalesforceが強みを発揮できる領域だ。
Riley氏は、受け付け、予約管理、インテリジェンスは、従来のCRM機能の延長上にあるものだと言う。
さらに同社は、統合向けに「MuleSoft」、分析向けに「Tableau」といったツールをHealth Cloudに導入している。また、同社の顧客データプラットフォームを使って、Health Cloudに即してデータを集約し、医療従事者が在宅医療でも活用できるようにしているとRiley氏は言う。
これらを総合すると、同社のHealth Cloud戦略は、EpicやCernerが提供するようなバックオフィスツールには乗り出さず、リテールヘルスケアや顧客体験に真っ向から取り組もうとしているようだ。つまり、Salesforceは服薬管理から薬のメールオーダー、そして訪問診療と予約を通じたエンゲージメントまで、あらゆる面で支援することになりそうだ。
