米国時間1月26日、Twitterはオランダ発のニュースレター配信サービスRevueの買収を発表した。その2日後には米国版TwitterからRevueが利用できるようになり、本日より日本からもアクセスできるようになっている。今回、TechCrunch JapanでもRevueを試してみたのでどんなサービスかお伝えしたい。
Revueは簡単に説明すると、個人や小規模な事業主でも購読者となったフォロワーや顧客、ファン向けにニュースレターが配信できるサービスだ。月額の購読料を設定することもできる。
Twitterからアクセスするには、タイムラインの左側にある「もっと見る」のボタンをクリックする。ここに「ニュースレター」が追加されているはずだ。そこからRevueのページへと進めるようになっている。
Revueでニュースレターを配信するにはまず購読者を募る必要がある。Revueでのプロフィールページが自分のニュースレターへの購読ページになっているので、このページをシェアすることで購読者が募る仕組みだ。すでに別サービスで購読者がいる場合は、購読者のメールアドレスを「Subscribers」のタブから追加することができる。
実際のニュースレターは「Create」タブから見出し、本文、リンク、メディア（画像、動画、ツイート）を追加して作成する。完成したらすぐに配信するか、配信時間を設定することが可能だ。配信後、「Insight」タブからニュースレターの開封率やクリック率を確認できる。

メールの配信サービスと言えば、MailChimpやSendgridなどのサービスが有名だろう。それらのサービスほどデザインやマーケティングの機能面で充実していないが、Revueは初心者でもブログを書くような感覚で、簡単にニュースレターを配信できる親しみやすいインターフェイスになっている。

また、Twitter、Facebook、Instagram、Mediumなどのアカウントと連携することで、過去の自分のツイートや記事などをニュースレターに簡単に追加できる点は便利に感じた。自分の書いた記事、作成したイラストや動画が各種SNS、ブログに散らばっているという人は多いと思う。Revueはそうした作品を集約して配信し、購読者とのつながりを強化するのに便利なツールとなりそうだ。
ただし、今回日本でも利用できるようになったと言っても、Revueのインターフェイスは日本語未対応であるし、月額課金の通貨の選択肢に日本円はない。使えないことはないだろうが、日本で使うにはまだ少し不便かもしれない。
Revueの基本機能は無料で使える。有料ニュースレターの場合は手数料5％だ。
